2gb of dual channel or 3gb single channel?
« on: March 03, 2008, 08:44:54 PM »
one of my sticks fried, so i'm going to be getting another 2x1gb set soon. when i do, would performance make it better to only put the matched 2gb in for dual channel, or would the extra gig help out more even though it's single channel? timings would be the same in all situations, 4-4-4-12. mostly with this computer i game, stuff like crysis, fear, bioshock, orange box, etc.

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP YOU GUYS

/sarcasm

on a serious note, i'm just gonna go with 3gb. 1gb single channel isn't too horrible i guess 3 would be pretty ok.
